According to Fox News, during the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) in Qatar, Iran’s display of military capabilities including drones, guns, missiles and radar systems drew attention. The event’s participation of nations hostile to the United States raised concerns about Qatar’s role in facilitating arms sales to adversaries. Despite Qatar’s historical partnerships with the U.S. and its hosting of countries like Iran and Russia has prompted discussions about security implications.

Analysts Call for US to Reevaluate Qatar Ties Over Affiliations with Hamas and Iran

The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) said Iran joined the expo, urging the U.S. to stop it from attending future weapon shows because of its support for terrorism and possession of ballistic missiles. Analysts said the U.S. needs to rethink its relationship with Qatar due to its ties to groups like Hamas and countries like Iran. During the expo, the U.S. and Qatar talked about security cooperation concerning Afghanistan and Ukraine, without mentioning Iran’s presence.
