Guaranteed Income Program Ensures Support for Hardworking Community Members in Ann Arbor

According to Washington Examiner, in a little more than two weeks, 100 low-income business owners in Ann Arbor, Michigan, will begin receiving $528 every month through the Guaranteed Income to Grow Ann Arbor program. This initiative, organized by the Poverty Solutions team at the University of Michigan, started in January and chose qualifying individuals to provide assistance. Payments will be sent out on the 15th of each month, making sure everyone receives their funds promptly, even on weekends or holidays.

The goal of this program is to help people in the community who work hard but still struggle financially. It’s meant to be a safety net for those who run small businesses, work independently, or have gigs in different fields. Kristin Seefeldt, from Poverty Solutions, talked about how important it is to support these residents who contribute to the community’s well-being but face financial challenges.
