Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has extended the deadline for older adults and people with disabilities to apply for property tax and rent rebates from June 30 to December 31 to help more people benefit.

Pennsylvania Extends Property Tax and Rent Rebate Application Deadline to December 31

According to the published article in CBS News, Pennsylvania Governor announced an extension for older adults and people with disabilities to apply for property tax and rent rebates. The deadline, originally June 30, is now December 31. Governor Shapiro said this program helps seniors and those on fixed incomes save money and is now easier to access than ever before.

This year, many more people have applied for the rebates. Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne said there have been 445,000 applications so far, which is about 100,000 more than last year, including 80,000 new applicants. The extended deadline gives more time for people in all parts of Pennsylvania to apply.

Approved Property Tax and Rent Rebates to Be Distributed Starting July 1

Furthermore, rebates that have been approved will start being given out on July 1. Eligible people can apply for the rebate online, and those who can’t apply online can find places to apply in person. This program shows the state’s effort to help its seniors and people with disabilities by giving them financial support.
