To get help from SNAP you need to meet certain rules about how much money you make and other things like how many people are in your family. The program is funded by both the federal government and the state. If you’re eligible you’ll get a special card that works like a debit card for buying food at stores. But the money you get might not cover all your food costs so you still have to pay some yourself.
