An 18-year-old firefighter was arrested after deputies say he started exactly eight arsons across two counties over the past few months.
Allegations of Offenses Against Nutter
From the statement of the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, an Arizona fireman who was later on identified as Karson Nutter, 18, was charged with arson after he reportedly confessed to setting a string of fires across two counties in June.
The firefighter of Ash Fork reportedly confessed to the investigators that he burned the gas stations and a county-owned cemetery because he was bored and was chasing a thrill. Moreover, he also burned abandoned houses for being ugly.
The 18-year-old boy is presently booked in the YCSO Detention Center for the following offenses:
- Three counts of arson of a structure or a public property
- Aggravated criminal damage
- Five counts of false reports to law enforcement.
Other charges are expected to be filed in Coconino County, according to the press release. In addition, Nutter’s bond was set at $2 million. However, further information is on whether or not Nutter has retained an attorney at this time.
