In 2024, Nebraska faces a big problem with more violent crimes happening in many cities. Southwest Journal looked at 21 cities and found out that the crime rates are higher than the national average. This hasn’t been seen since 2000. Omaha is one of the cities that keeps showing up as very dangerous. The places with lots of people without jobs and not much money seem to have more crime. 5 Most Dangerous Places in Nebraska
North Platte
North Platte, Nebraska is known for its Wild West history is considered the most dangerous city in the state. Despite being home to Buffalo Bill it has high rates of violent and property crimes.
Visitors can go up the Golden Spike Tower for a great view. From there they can see the Union Pacific Railroad Bailey Yard, which has lots of trains.
Omaha
Omaha, Nebraska has a lot of history but is also dangerous. It’s the second most dangerous city in Nebraska.

Scottsbluff
Scottsbluff in the panhandle region of Nebraska is also dangerous. It’s named after a big cliff overlooking the Platte River.
