According to a new research, New Yorkers are getting more money back on their taxes because to a new IRS tool. When people file their taxes online, they can use this service, Direct File, to determine which tax advantages they are eligible for. It is especially useful for families that may miss out on credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Child Tax Credit because they are unaware of their eligibility.

IRS Tool’s Nationwide Expansion Promises Savings for Taxpayers
This instrument not only benefits families, but also the state by increasing tax revenue. Right now, it’s just available in New York but it’s planned to be available nationwide by 2029. According to the analysis, by then each user who uses the tool may save $160 on filing fees.
