Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs Requests $752 Million from Federal Government to Address Migrant Issues

Arizona’s Governor Katie Hobbs who is a Democrat has asked the federal government for a huge amount of money- $752 million. She wants this money to help deal with the problem of migrants in Arizona. In a letter to some important committees in Congress she explained that the situation in her state is very serious. Without this money services for migrants could be in trouble. The funds would help not only Arizona but also other places dealing with migrants coming over the border from Mexico.

Arizona, which is next to Mexico has been struggling with lots of people trying to cross the border illegally. Governor Hobbs wants Congress to put aside political arguments and focus on finding real solutions to keep people safe. She says it’s her job to make sure communities are safe, especially when there are challenges at the border.
