Initially, the measure offered a $1,000 monthly payment to anyone who are studying, have a child, or just had a baby. However, they are currently unsure of the exact amount and mode of operation.

Some find it appealing to give money to individuals directly. They claim that it benefits local businesses and families. Still others fear it will be overpriced and could lead to issues. Without knowing the cost, McHenry County employee Mike Buehler believes it’s not a good idea. Furthermore, he fears that it may prevent people from working. As of right now, a committee is still debating the bill and has not made a decision.
