USDA’s Farm and Food Workers Relief Program Provides Crucial Financial Aid Support Amid Pandemic Challenges

HAVRE – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is currently in Havre working on a special program called the Farm and Food Workers Relief Program. This program aims to provide aid to farm and livestock workers who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of this initiative the USDA is surveying the area to determine if enough individuals qualify to receive a one-time payment of $600.

Benjamin Wynn, representing Centro De Familia the organization overseeing the distribution of these payments shed light on the program. He explained that the Farm and Food Workers Relief Program was established during the pandemic to assist farm workers with financial support. Contrary to common belief, Wynn clarified that the program is not exclusive to migrant workers. Anyone who can provide proof of identification and employment with at least one hour of work during the pandemic period is eligible for the payment.
