Mother’s Rampage Leaves Son Critically Injured in Joel Osteen Church Shooting
Genesse Moreno, 36, opened fire in Joel Osteen Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday afternoon acording to True Crime Daily. Moreno came at the chapel at 1:55 p.m. with a long rifle and a bag. She immediately fired additional shots causing off-duty police officers to confront her in a gunfight. The commotion left Moreno’s 7-year-old son who was shot in the head critically injured.

Chaos Erupts in Joel Osteen Church Shooting
The assembly panicked as gunfire rang through the church hallways wounding one bystander in the leg. Moreno was found with an AR-15 long gun, a.22 caliber rifle and alarming indications of antisemitism. Investigations uncovered Moreno’s mental health difficulties and family strife which may have motivated her violence. Law police responded quickly but Moreno died at 2:07 p.m., leaving a scene of tragedy and unresolved questions.
