The state attorney general is investigating these calls as an “unlawful attempt to disrupt the New Hampshire Presidential Primary Election and to suppress New Hampshire voters.”

Investigation Launched into Fake Biden Robocall Disrupting New Hampshire Primary
The disinformation’s perpetrators are unknown. The phony call used a digitally altered Joe Biden voice to discourage primary participation and encourage participants to preserve their votes for November.
The call was disguised as coming from Kathy Sullivan, a former New Hampshire Democratic Party chair and Write-in Biden super PAC member. Robocallers employ fake numbers, and the call advised contacting Sullivan to delete one’s number.
The call’s recipient was encouraged to ignore it, and New Hampshire voters were reminded that primary participation doesn’t impede November General Election voting. The call may have reached 5,000–25,000 people. The voice sounded phony, prompting the New Hampshire attorney general’s investigation.

New Hampshire Voters Targeted by Fake Biden Robocall
The agency advised voters to ignore the letter and noted that primary voting does not affect November election participation. Kathy Sullivan, whose number was spoofed, reported the calls to federal authorities, requesting prosecution for an attack on democracy. To combat disinformation and voter suppression, the Biden team is investigating new options.
The Trump team and Dean Phillips, a New Hampshire Democrat, denied involvement, but experts worry that deepfakes may become more common in election season. Artificial intelligence manipulating audio and video has prompted concerns about political anarchy. Disinformation and political analysts expect these techniques to increase and stress the necessity for election integrity protections.
