According to County 10, Governor Mark Gordon and the Wyoming Department of Revenue have started a program to give money back to homeowners who pay property taxes. The government added $20 million more to help more people. Governor Mark Gordon thanked the lawmakers for giving more money to help Wyoming residents who struggle with high property taxes.
Last year, the program helped over 9,000 families in Wyoming giving them more than $8 million in refunds. On average each family got about $938 back. Homeowners who qualify can get back up to half of what they paid in property taxes or 75% of their bill from 2023. They made the rules broader in March so more people could get help. Director Brenda Henson talked about how easy it is to apply. But you have to apply before June 3 and you have to pay your taxes for 2023 first.
