DOJ Arrests 18-Year-Old Suspected of Planning ISIS-Inspired Attacks
The Department of Justice (DOJ) detained an 18-year-old man from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on suspicion of plotting violent crimes. He claimed to be acting on behalf of ISIS when he planned to harm Christians and destroy churches. According to the DOJ, he intended to do harm to members of a neighboring church, set it on fire, and then repeat the act at other churches. He intended to use his father’s guns for these nefarious deeds.

DOJ Foils Alleged ISIS-inspired Plot by Idaho Teen
The DOJ says they started looking into him when he tried to give money to groups like ISIS when he was 17. They found out he was talking to people he thought were with ISIS but were actually working with the FBI. He talked about his plan to hurt people and burn churches to these FBI people. They say he even bought things like cans of butane to help him do it. Now he could go to jail for 20 years if found guilty. The Attorney General, Merrick Garland, says they stopped him before he could hurt anyone. The FBI agent, Shohini Sinha, warns about the danger of people getting convinced to do bad things on their own, without anyone making them. This case shows how important it is to be careful and work together to stop bad things from happening.
