Marysville’s Wills Manor Receives Tax Credit Boost for Affordable Senior Housing
Tax Credit Fuels Construction of Affordable Senior Housing in Marysville
In Marysville, a new housing project called Wills Manor is getting help to be built for older people who don’t have much money. Governor Gretchen Whitmer said they’ll give $1,489,497 to Cove Investments who’s making the project, according to the published article of Times Herald. This money comes from something called a tax credit which helps pay for the construction. The plan is to have 48 apartments for older Americans with some getting extra help to pay for rent.
They’re going to start building next year on New York Ave near Vicksburg Hall. Some apartments will get special vouchers from the Port Huron Housing Commission to help with rent. And about 15% of the apartments will be saved for people who really need help paying rent. Even though they wanted more apartments this is a good start. They think it will make two new jobs and 117 temporary jobs.
