One Time Payment for Victims of Data Breach
For those eligible for one time payment there are three options available. Firstly, individuals can claim up to $5,000 for expenses related to the data breach, such as identity theft losses, credit or attorney fees and costs for credit monitoring incurred after November 18, 2022. However, documented proof of these expenses is required to make a specific cash claim. Alternatively, if documentation is lacking individuals can still receive a portion of the one time payment funds in cash, although the exact amount is unspecified. Finally, a third option is to opt for a year of free credit monitoring and insurance services. Affected individuals must select one of these three benefits offered by the settlement. While the exact compensation amount for those without documentation remains unclear the opportunity for reimbursement or free services aims to provide some recourse for those impacted by the data breach.
