39-Year-Old Jamie Crowell Breaches Protection Order and Threatens Woman
A tense situation unfolded in Wilmington on Saturday as authorities responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a man identified as 39-year-old Jamie Crowell. Despite having a domestic violence protection order against him, Crowell allegedly breached the order and threatened a woman at her residence on West Fish Hawk Ct. Wilmington Police swiftly intervened, but Crowell barricaded himself inside the home upon their arrival, prompting the deployment of crisis negotiation and SWAT teams. For several hours, negotiators worked to peacefully resolve the standoff while ensuring the safety of all involved. Eventually, Crowell emerged from the residence and surrendered without resistance. No force was required during the apprehension. The Wilmington Police Department confirmed that Crowell will face charges, including misdemeanor communicating threats and misdemeanor violation of a domestic violence protective order. He will be transferred to the New Hanover County Detention Facility pending further legal proceedings.
