House Republicans Slam SBA’s Remote Work Policy, Demand Return to Office

EXCLUSIVE  – House Republicans are criticizing the Small Business Administration (SBA) for what they call extreme work from home rules following COVID 19. They say the SBA should be back at work to help small businesses as they cannot work from home like SBA employees. They are asking for information on telework status and pay and questioning why the SBA needs a $42 million rent increase if they are not fully back in the office.

House Republicans Demand SBA’s Return to Office Amid Concerns Over Remote Work Practices

In a letter obtained by the Washington Examiner, Republicans Roger Williams and Mark Alford are urging the SBA to return to in person work. They are concerned that the SBA current policy of allowing employees in the office only half the time is wasteful and does not help small businesses effectively. They are demanding answers from the SBA by April 9 about their return to work plan and telework practices. Despite the Biden administration’s call to end work from home policies the SBA is still largely remote according to the Republicans. They are pushing for transparency and action to ensure the SBA is fully supporting small businesses as the economy recovers from the pandemic.
