Babysitter Faces Charges in Tragic Death of 3-Year-Old: Alleged Violent Conduct Causes Community Grief
A 30-year-old babysitter is being charged with major offenses in connection with the death of her friend’s 3-year-old daughter, causing great sadness in the neighborhood. Authorities claim that on March 17th, Iesha Harris killed a toddler named Harmoni Henderson by violent conduct while the toddler was under her care. According to the prosecutor’s office, Harris is suspected of inflicting fatal blunt force trauma injuries on the youngster, who was nonverbal and had autism.
Allegations of Neglect and Violence Rock Community in Toddler’s Tragic Death
According to reports, Harmoni’s parents have accused Harris of confining her and her 1-year-old child in a room for several hours so that she and her friend could use marijuana. After Harmoni allegedly puked on herself, Harris became enraged and allegedly threw boiling water at her before hitting her head on a bathtub. Harris is accused of failing to call the authorities or seek medical attention despite the seriousness of the situation. Harris was arraigned on March 20 and is now being held on felony murder and first-degree child abuse charges by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
