Suspect Apprehended After Fatal Weekend Collision Involving Five Vehicles
Authorities Investigate Chain Reaction Caused by Alleged Hit-and-Run Suspect
According to Ktar News, over the weekend, a really sad hit-and-run happened in Glendale, where two people died, the police said on Monday. The cops went to the corner of 51st and Glendale avenues around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday because of a big crash involving five cars. Two teenagers, Tyler Hugon and Tess Collins, who were both 18, died because of their injuries. Another person got hurt too, but not as bad. They got taken to the hospital just to be safe. The person they think did it, a 20-year-old named Dieudonne Ushindi, ran away from the crash but got caught by the police later at his home.
Ushindi was allegedly involved in another collision near 48th and Glendale avenues. According to police reports, he then accelerated westbound on Glendale Avenue colliding with the vehicle occupied by Hugon and Collins setting off a chain reaction involving three additional vehicles. Despite attempting to evade capture, Ushindi’s connection to the registered vehicle led to his identification as the driver. He now faces charges of endangerment and hit-and-run as authorities continue their investigation.
