$300 Million Carbon Tax Rebate Delay Crisis for Struggling Small Businesses – CFIB Highlights!

CFIB Raises Alarm Over Delayed $300 Million Carbon Tax Rebates

Saskatchewan Small Businesses Shortchanged

According to GLOBAL NEWS, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is worried because the government hasn’t given back in $300 million carbon tax rebates to small businesses across Canada. In Saskatchewan alone, over $300 million carbon tax is owed to these businesses. The CFIB says small businesses were promised nine percent of these rebates but they’ve only gotten less than one percent so far. This delay is hurting small businesses’ finances and their ability to invest in important things like technology.

Urgent Call for Government Support

The CFIB wants the government to give money to small businesses quickly. They don’t like the idea of reducing rebates from nine to five percent. They worry this could make businesses lose a lot of money. The Chamber of Commerce agrees saying businesses need money for technology and stuff. Even though the Ministry of Environment plans to give back money, people are still confused. CFIB and the Chamber want more businesses to get money. They hope each business can get up to $7,000. Small businesses hope the government will help them soon.
