Property Tax/Rent Rebate Assistance

Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m., Causer’s office will be at the Kane Senior Center on 100 N. Fraley St. The service is free and does not need appointments.

Seniors and disabled people benefit from the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Assistance Program, Rep. Causer said. The income qualifying restrictions and maximum refund amount have increased this year, making more people eligible for help.

The state has boosted homeowner and renter income qualifying restrictions to $45,000, requiring people to omit 50% of Social Security. From $650 to $1,000, the maximum refund has increased. The program benefits 65-year-olds, 50-year-old widows and widowers, and 18-year-old disabled people.

Document Requirements and Application Process for Property Tax/Rent Rebates Assistance

Residents need claims-processing proof to get a refund. The landlord must complete a 2023 PA Rent Certificate, give income proof (Social Security/Disability Form 1099, work W-2, Pension/Retirement Form 1099, and Interest/Dividends Form 1099), and show a driver’s license or photo ID. In contrast, homeowners must furnish 2023 property taxes, income, and identification.

Residents should bring a check for account details for direct rebate deposits. If not, printed checks will be mailed and payments are expected after July 1. Apply online at or in Rep.
