Food Stamp fraud has been victimizing beneficiaries in Georgia. However, stolen benefits may be restored now that the state has approved the replacement of the benefits.
Victims of Food Stamp Fraud Will Receive Replacement of SNAP Benefits
According to Go Banking Rates, the beneficiaries who fell victim to the food stamp fraud will get their stolen benefits restored now that Georgia has received approval from the U.S. government to replace the benefits.
Last month, the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Family & Children Services stated that it received federal approval to replace the stolen food stamp benefits for recipients who are victims of food stamp fraud such as EBT skimming, card cloning, and similar fraud.

Food Stamp Fraud is a Criminal Epidemic, US Government Says
According to NASDAQ, food stamp fraud or the EBT fraud costs taxpayers up to $4.7 billion a year which called a criminal epidemic.
The Georgia DHS has worked quickly in order to provide relief to victims. However, it was not stated what was the extent of the food stamp fraud that is affecting SNAP recipients. Georgia DHS also stated that to request the replacement benefits, a Request for Replacement of Stolen Benefits must be completed.
