A New Orleans man has recently been arrested for setting his own home on fire, which claimed the lives of his three kids.
New Orleans Man Arrested of Alleged Arson that Claimed the Life of His Three Children
Joseph Washington Sr., a 29-year-old New Orleans man, was arrested after the day he burned his house and killed his three children, ages 3, 5, and 8.
According to a report from NBC, the mother of three children called help from 911 at 11:55 p.m. In her statement, she stated that she was at work when the New Orleans man, the father of the kids, was threatening to burn down their house.
Two of the victims of the arson, the New Orlean man’s five-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son, were able to be rescued but later on died at a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the body of his three-year-old son was discovered within the remains of the house.
New Orleans Man Faces Several Charges
According to Daily Caller, the New Orleans man will be facing charges of second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, and one count of aggravated arson.
Joseph Washington Sr, the New Orleans man, allegedly leaped from an overpass and was later taken to a hospital for medical evaluation before he was taken into custody.
The New Orleans man’s then-wife filed a restraining order against him in 2018. He was also convicted of domestic abuse and battery twice in 2016 and was again arrested in 2018 on similar charges.
