Actress Julia Ormond claimed that she was sexually assaulted by the movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, in 1995 and sued the man; she also accused her former agents, The Walt Disney, and Miramax of enabling Weinstein’s assault.

According to NBC, Actress Julia Ormond has accused a movie producer named Harvey Weinstein of sexually assaulting her back in 1995 and hindering her career when she was a star on the rise.
Aside from suing her perpetrator, actress Julia Ormond also accused The Walt Disney Co., Miramax, and her former agents of knowing the actions of the movie producer but did not do anything to help her. Actress Julia Ormond stated that she asked for help from her former agents around that time but received no support and was advised not to take any legal action against her perpetrator.
Actress Julia Ormond Files Adult Survivor Act
According to AP News, Actress Julia Ormond filed the lawsuit under the Adult Survivor Act which allows her a temporary window for the alleged sexual assault past the state’s normal deadlines.
The filing states that the prominent companies that actress Julia Ormond accused did not warn her about Weinstein’s history of assaulting women because he was too important, powerful, and had too much money.
Actress Julia Ormond’s perpetrator was convicted of rape and sexual assault in 2020 and is in prison in New York. In 2022, he was convicted of another case of rape in Los Angeles.
