Las Vegas Raiders player Chandler Jones posted alarming content on social media before his arrest. Online jail records show Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones was arrested Friday morning for breaking a domestic violence TPO.
Las Vegas Raiders Team Declined to Comment on the Situation of Jones
According to the published news of Fox News, Chandler Jones, 33 years old, has not played for the Raiders this season. In 15 games last season, he had 4.5 sacks and 15 quarterback hits, second on the club. He was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list last week and was booked into the Clark County Detention Centre in Las Vegas on Friday on $15,000 bond. ESPN reports that he posted bond and will appear in court on December 4.
Las Vegas Raiders expressed worry for Jones Friday afternoon but declined to comment due to legal issues. The Las Vegas Raiders have high hopes that Chandler Jones will receive the medical attention he needs. He, his family, and everyone concerned are in our thoughts. Since this is a legal situation, we will not comment.” Josh McDaniels said he cares about all players, current and former. “I care about them all,” he said. “We probably all do. We wish all our athletes, previous players, etc. the best. That’ll never change. All the guys we’ve coached and worked with will always have that component. Just accept it as it comes as we go through this and try our best. We can’t do much else.”
Since before the season, Jones has been at odds with the team. He released screenshots this month stating he couldn’t use the team’s facilities. Jones claimed in a since-deleted handwritten journal entry on Monday that the Las Vegas Fire Department had transported him to the hospital “against my will” a week earlier. He aired a lengthy video on social media days later where he appeared upset about Aaron Hernandez’s death, raising concerns about his mental health.
