Three Nations Joint Military Drills: U.S. and South Korea Amid North Korea Threats
The three nations, the United States, South Korea, and Japan, have conducted a joint military drill this week as the threats from North Korea have intensified.
Recent South Korean news reports that the US has sent B-1B bombers to join South Korea’s FA-50 and the US Air Force’s F-16s for the Ulchi Freedom Shield drills. This joint military exercise involving the three nations is currently ongoing.
While North Korea sees this annual joint military drill as preparations for war, the three nations emphasized that the drills are defensive in nature.
Three Nations Joint Military Drills: U.S. and Japan Conduct Joint Military Exercise
According to Reuters, the United States and Japan conducted military exercises together without the involvement of South Korea. The drills involved two U.S. Air Force B-1B planes and 12 Japanese fighters, including four F-15 jets. The three nations led the joint exercises in response to North Korea’s failed satellite launch attempt last August.
The joint exercise led by three nations showcased a united defense posture against North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats.
