The mother of a 7-year-old son was arrested for murder after her son died from a fatal gunshot wound.

According to the news report from WAFF 48, a 7-year-old boy was found at a Main Street home after the alleged suspect called the officers at 2 a.m., and authorities stated that the poor boy was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood, who confirmed the child’s death, also stated that the mother was allegedly the suspect in the murder as they found the boy with two fatal gunshot wounds and identified the wounds to be shot at a close range.
Moreover, Norwood also stated that the child’s body had been transported from the scene for further autopsy.

Alleged Suspect Faced Capital Murder
The news from WHNT reported that the alleged suspect was identified as Shannon Renee Karr, a 36-year-old woman. She is currently being held at the Lawrence County Jail without bond until her lawyer can file a motion for her bond hearing.
Karr is scheduled to have her preliminary hearing on August 23 and was facing one count of capital murder of a victim less than 14 years of age. Furthermore, the suspect was warned by the judge that this case would be a long process.
