Tax-Exempted Apple Products

From a published article of Apple Insider, State-by-state variations exist in tax holiday benefits and restrictions. As a result, each year Apple offers a list of products that qualify as well as a set of guidelines to assist customers.

The annual back-to-school sale has an official Apple tax holiday sale website, which was first noticed by MacRumors. Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, and West Virginia, provide the qualified items and the applicable dates.

This deal is distinct from Apple’s back-to-school campaign, and as tax-free weekends get closer, more states might sign up for the website. For July and August, many states in the US offer tax-free weekends to encourage back-to-school shopping.

In Alabama, the tax holiday in Alabama spans from July 21 to July 23. Anyone exempt item may not be sold for more than $750. Macs, iPads, keyboards, the Apple Pencil, monitors, printers, storage devices, and third-party software are examples of qualifying computers and computer accessories.

The tax holiday in Florida runs from July 24 to August 6. Every exempt item may not be sold for more than $1,500. AppleCare, iPads, Macs, and accessories are acceptable.

The tax holiday in Missouri is from August 4 to August 6. The software cannot cost more than $350, but computers and related gear are limited to $1,500. Products like Macs, iPads, and accessories like Apple TV are eligible.

The tax holiday in Tennessee is from July 28 to July 30. The combined sales price of eligible computers and selected accessories cannot be greater than $1,500. All Macs, iPads, and accessories sold alongside qualified computers are eligible. On their own, accessories that are not sold with a computer do not qualify.

The tax holiday in West Virginia is from August 4 to August 7. This state’s tax break only applies to iPads that cost less than $500.

While there are currently only these states listed, make sure to keep an eye on Apple’s website for updates as new states’ information becomes available.
