Trade Minister Don Farrell has issued a warning to the US to be cautious about sending a warship to the Middle East.
Trade Minister Don Farell: Royal Australian Navy Focused on South China Sea, Considering US Request for Help in the Red Sea
According to SMH, Trade Minister Don Farell stated that the Royal Australian Navy was focused on priorities such as the South China Sea. Don Farell additionally stated that the government was still considering the US request for help in the Red Sea to guard against possible attacks by Iran.
During the discussion, the opposition attempted to put more pressure on the Labor Party to make a decision immediately. Don Farrel informed Sky News that the government is concentrating on their activities in their respective regions and currently has ships in the South China Sea. He also added that Defence Minister Richard Marles has received the request and is still considering it.

Don Farell and Marles US Navy Focus on Immediate Region
According to WA Today, Don Farell and Marles remarked that the navy’s focus has been on the immediate region.
The US has also requested for ships to come as the government voted to be in favour of immediate humanitarian ceasefore in Gaza at the United Nations General Assembly, a move that angered Israel and pleased the supporters of Palestinians.
