We looked into different kinds of Long Beach areas for a recent Saturday Night Science show. These included trendy havens and preppy havens. Even though the city generally has a good image, not all places are as safe as others. Alamitos Heights stands out as a safe place to live, but our study of 27 areas shows that they are not all the same. Today, we’ll focus on the less safe areas and show the problems that make Long Beach’s otherwise great reputation less impressive. Every neighborhood, from hip areas to college zones, adds something different to the safety of the city.
1. North West Long Beach
North West Long Beach is home to 10,728 people who live in a statistically diverse area. The fact that the typical house value in the area is $317,288,000 demonstrates the real estate market. The median salary, which is important for living, is $55,268 and the average rent is $1,018, which shows that housing is affordable.
