According to Business Insider, Take Helena, 58, is a student loan borrower who previously had to sell items on eBay in order to afford her payments but she stated that her payments would get nowhere as the interest keeps growing.
Moreover, as a student loan borrower with a minimal income, she could not afford to pay off her student loans until interest accrued and her balance now stands at $145,000. She also stated that she believed in paying. However, it’s been very hard for her to the point she wants debt relief.
Student Loan Borrowers of All Ages Wish to Benefit from Biden’s Relief Measures
According to the same publisher, Business Insider, many of the student loan borrowers have been dealing with the burden for decades, even the ones who recently graduated from college had to make a student loan payment due to the three-year pandemic pause.
Theresa Teders, 69, one of the student loan borrowers, stated that older people should have their student loan forgiven too and that the Biden administration and federal lawmakers should take care of them as well.
