Zelensky Open to Hearing Trump’s Peace Plan, Rejects Surrendering Parts of Ukraine to Russia

Recently, in an interview with Fox News, Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, said he was ready to talk with former U.S. President Donald Trump and would be open to any real peace plan he might come up with for calm between Russia and Ukraine. Zelensky said, “He can give it to me if he has a very clear peace plan.”

According to different comments made by former President Trump, if he were to win the next U.S. presidential election, he could end the war in Ukraine “in 24 hours.” Zelensky, on the other hand, told NBC News in November that Trump was welcome to visit Kyiv and that he only needed “24 minutes” to explain why stopping the war in a day was not possible. But Trump said that a trip to Kyiv was “inappropriate” at this time.

In the Fox News interview, Zelensky made it clear that giving up parts of Ukraine to Russia might end the war, but he doesn’t think it’s a good way to make peace and doesn’t think Ukraine would agree to it. The vague position shows how complicated the situation is and how hard it will be to find a solution that protects Ukraine’s interests and rights. As diplomacy talks continue, the world keeps a close eye on how the top leaders interact with each other and their efforts to solve the problem in the area.
