Three counts of murder and killing by car were dropped against 23-year-old Jayana Webb.
State Troopers Martin Mack III and Branden Sisca, as well as passenger Reyes Rivera Oliveras, died in a terrible car crash in Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Jayana Webb, the driver, pleaded guilty to charges like third-degree murder and death due to DUI. Webb has been given a prison sentence of 27½ to 60 years. On March 21, just after 12:30 a.m., the accident happened on Interstate 95 when Troopers Mack and Sisca were called to help with Oliveras, who was walking near the stadium.
Fox News reports that police said a normal traffic stop with Jayana Webb lasted less than a minute before they were told to go check on someone walking on I-95. This is a concerning development. This quick change of events was caught on dashcam video.
To make things even worse, a text from Webb in mid-January showed that she seemed to be bragging about how good she was at driving while drunk, saying, “If you ask me, I’m the best drunk driver ever.” This alarming fact comes after Webb recently pleaded guilty to the crash in March 2022 that killed two state cops and a passerby who wasn’t at fault. The shortstop brings up questions about what happened before the terrible accident on I-95 and shows how quickly and tragically things turned out.
