Officials have stated that on Monday morning, two children were killed when they were struck by a vehicle and died in the vicinity of an elementary school in Maryland.

According to a post on social media made by Riverdale Park Mayor Alan Thompson, the two children were pedestrians on their way to Riverdale Elementary School at approximately eight in the morning when they were struck by a vehicle and both of them died. According to what he said, the driver remained at the site. According to a post that was made on social media by the Township Police Department, the collision took place at the intersection of Riverdale and Taylor roads. The school is located just next to the crossroads.
Officials from the school issued a statement in which they explained that there was a deadly pedestrian accident in front of the school during the arrival period. They also told parents that they could pick up their children earlier if they so desired. A few miles to the northeast of the border with Washington, District of Columbia, the Prince George’s County village of approximately 7,000 inhabitants will be the subject of an investigation by the county police.
