A continuing investigation into recent instances involving firearm offenses in Carbondale, Illinois resulted in the arrest of one suspect on Tuesday.
Under Investigation
According to the Carbondale Police Department, warrants were issued to detectives in connection with this investigation for a residence located in the 500 block of South Graham Street and another residence located in the 300 block of South Oakland Avenue. Both of these residences are located in Carbondale. In the early morning hours of November 14, officers and detectives from the Carbondale Police Department, along with members of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) Special Response Team, executed search warrants at both of the aforementioned residences.
The local police successfully detained and apprehended Alaye T. Graham, a 19-year-old individual from Carbondale, at a residence on S. Graham Street. However, no arrests were made on S. Oakland Avenue. Graham faces multiple charges including firearm violence, theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, firearm possession without a FOID Card, as well as cannabis manufacturing or delivery. As a result, Graham is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
