Montana Starts Distributing Up to $2,500 in One-Time Tax Rebates; Here’s How to Qualify!

Eligible residents in Montana have started receiving their one-time tax rebates up to $2,500 since July and will end until the end of December 31.

Montana’s One-Time Tax Rebates

The state of Montana announced that it has started distributing one-time tax rebates of up to $2,500 since July and this will end until December 31. The Treasure State has one-time tax rebates for single filers and couples jointly filing together.

In a published article in the Washington Examiner, single filers will receive an amount of $1,250, while couples who jointly file will receive $2,500. Meanwhile, the Montana Department of Revenue announced that there is no need for taxpayers to apply for the one-time tax rebates because they will automatically send the payments if the person qualifies.

Here’s How To Qualify for the One-Time Tax Rebates

According to a published article in KIPLINGER, here are the qualifications to become eligible for the one-time tax rebates:

  • Recipients must be a resident of Montana for the entire 2021 tax year
  • Have filed a 2020 Montana resident or part-year resident tax return by the due date
  • Have filed a 2021 Montana tax return by the due date
  • Have not been claimed as a dependent on another taxpayer’s 2021 form
  • Must not have a Montana tax liability after any nonrefundable credits greater than $0
