A new one-time tax rebate will hit the bank accounts of thousands of qualified taxpayers soon, which will help them face the inflation rate.
One-Time Tax Rebate
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced during a press conference that a new one-time tax rebate will be sent to qualified taxpayers in the state. This is part of the state budget 2023 that she included and this is expected to hit the bank accounts or be sent to mail on December 1.
In a published article in the Times Journal, the state Governor is to utilize the historic budget surplus in Alabama to provide meaningful financial relief to working Alabama families. She said this during her 2023 State of the State Address.

Message of Gov. Kay Ivey
According to an article published in WVTM13, Gov. Kay Ivey said, This is the people’s money, and it’s only right, while acknowledging we are recording revenues far exceeding normal and sustainable levels, we give a fair share of this money directly back to the people of Alabama.”
She also added, Our country is in the midst of tough times, and Alabama families from all walks of life are unfortunately seeing that their paychecks aren’t going as far as they once did. Thanks to our unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility, one-time tax rebates will be with our hard-working Alabamians in time for the holidays.”
