One-Time Tax Rebates in Alabama
The Alabama Department of Revenue announced that roughly 1.9 million residents in the state will start to receive one-time tax rebates this month, either by direct deposits or through checks. This is expected to arrive at the end of this month, in November.
In a published article in News 19, Frank Miles, Alabama Department of Revenue spokesperson, said, “The state had a bit of a surplus. I think part of it was the federal funds they got. I do believe that some revenue also increased over that time, so for whatever reason they had a surplus… In order to help the average taxpayer in Alabama, here’s a little something to hopefully get your holiday started off well.”

Amount of One-Time Tax Rebates
According to a published article in Yahoo Finance, lawmakers passed the bill in May and it was indicated in the provision that single filers will receive an amount of $150, while married couples or those who jointly filed together will receive an amount of $300.
Furthermore, the source of funds will come from the $2.8 billion surplus in the Education Trust Fund and they will allot an amount of $393 million to send extra cash to the eligible residents in the state.
