State lawmakers passed legislation that will send an amount of up to $300 in special tax rebate in Alabama to eligible residents.
Special Tax Rebate in Alabama
Around 1.9 million residents are awaiting updates on the Alabama tax credits 2023. The lawmakers passed a legislation on May that will send an amount of up to $300 to the eligible residents in the state in a form of Special Tax Rebate.
In a published article in WEIS RADIO, individual filers will receive an amount of $150, while couples who jointly file will receive $300. This will cost the state some $393 million and this will come from the $2.8 billion surplus in the Education Trust Fund.
Meanwhile, Governor Kay Ivey said, “Thanks to the work of the Alabama Legislature we continue making these wise investments while paying down debts, and adding to our savings and returning the working people of Alabama’s money back to them – through tax rebates.”

When Will They Receive the $300 Special Tax Rebate in Alabama?
According to a published article in AL ALABAMA, the Alabama Department of Revenue announced that they will start to send the special tax rebate and it will begin to arrive on November 30. This will be sent through direct deposit and checking accounts.
To qualify for the special tax rebates in Alabama, a person must have filed his or her income tax return for 2021 on or before October 17, 2022. However, all those that don’t file a return or are considered as a dependent for another taxpayer in 2021 aren’t eligible.
