SUV Driver Can Still Walk and Talk to Authorities After Being Hit by A Sedan
On Saturday, Oct. 21, a white sedan driver slammed into a blue SUV and subsequently into an apartment garage under a dwelling, prompting police to search for a suspect. Some neighbors were displaced by the burning white vehicle. The garage emitted thick smoke about 2:27 p.m. at 10th Street and 9th Avenue South in Fargo. Police, neighbors, and the blue SUV driver told WDAY-TV that the white sedan driver ran a stop sign and hit the blue SUV before hitting the garages. The driver exited the car and fled. Just blocks away, a police K-9 was searched.
Not gravely harmed, the blue SUV driver could walk and talk to officers. A person and dog from the affected houses were rescued by firefighters and transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. WDAY interviewed two 911 callers. A team of neighbors ran inside the burning garage with fire extinguishers minutes before first responders arrived. Leaving their homes with fire extinguishers “Trevor Hollingshead recounted. “They appeared to be extinguishing a large garage fire. Fire extinguishers may have stopped something from spreading.” “People were throwing the empty fire extinguishers that they had used, I mean there’s a pile over there, about four of them,” Autumn added.
