According to the published news by Washington Examiner, the First State is exceptional in that its payment window, which spans more than three-quarters of the month, is among the longest in the country. Which of the 22 days a receiver will receive their cash depends on the initial letter of their last name. This week, the month’s last installments will be distributed.
Distribution of SNAP benefits will start on the second day of the month. According to Delaware Governor John Carney, the amount paid varies according to the size of the recipient’s home; single families earn $281, while eight-member households will receive $1,691.
The money is loaded onto an EBT card, the same as in most other states. The card works like a credit card but can only be used to buy meals and non-alcoholic beverages.
The money supplied each month will carry over into the following years, so those who don’t use it all need not worry. As long as the card is regularly used, then the cash will be there without expiry.
