Jeffrey Clark’s Case Updates

According to an article by Ashley Oliver, the former Department of Justice official, Jeffrey Clark- who is a co-defendant in Trump’s Georgia racketeering case, denied his bed to move his case to federal court on Friday. US Judge Steve Jones said an order-federal court had no jurisdiction over Jeffrey Clark’s case. The news about the updates of Jeffrey Clark’s case was announced before Georgia bail bondsman Scott Hall became the first co-defendant to plead guilty.

Jeffrey Clark is a former Trump-appointed assistant attorney general. He is one of 18 co-defendants who was charged with racketeering and one count of attempted to commit false statements over a letter he allegedly attempted to send to Georgia officials in 2020; falsely representing that the DOJ had concerns that could impact the outcome of the election in Georgia.

The US Judge Steve Jones’s decision marks a small victory for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis- who had opposed Jeffrey Clark’s move, saying that Jeffrey Clark had no authority in his official capacity to write the letter in question. The decision of Jeffrey Clark’s case will remain in Fulton County Superior Court.
