Police officers arrested a teenage boy after the famous Robin Hood tree, ‘Sycamore Gap,’ was cut down on Thursday.

According to the source, a 16-year-old boy was arrested after the famous Robin Hood tree ‘Sycamore Gap’ was cut down on Thursday. The police officer said on social media- ” They believe the incident was a deliberate act of vandalism.” The teenage boy remains in police custody. He has been asked questions by police officers.
Police officers are seeking more information about the incident that happened in Sycamore Gap. They need help- if somebody knows anything you can report it to them. The authorities also asked the public not to visit the place during the investigation. The chief executive officer, Tony Gates, said- they would find a way together to move ahead and make the Sycamore Gap a special place for the people and all those memories from the past.
The famous Sycamore Gap was located next to Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland. Sycamore Gap is believed to be about 300 years old. The Sycamore Gap was featured in Kevin Reynolds’ action adventure Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The famous Sycamore Gap was voted English Tree of the Year last 2016 in the Woodland Trust’s awards.
