The New ATACMS Missiles
According to an article by Jake Epstein, Washington is willing to provide the new MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System, known as ATACMS missiles, to help Ukrainian forces keep up the pressure on high-value targets in the rear. The Ukrainian forces will soon use the new ATACMS missiles that could hammer Russian artillery and isolate parts of its army.
Some US and Ukrainian officials have long pressured Washington to send ATACMS missiles, missiles that can be fired from Kyiv’s existing arsenal of US-provided High Mobility Artillery Rocket System or known as HIMARS- but this request has been repeatedly met with reluctance from the White House. However, President Joe Biden told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that he is willing to provide that missile. The US will continue to help Ukraine succeed on the battlefield and protect its people.
The new ATACMS missiles aimed to cut off the Russian army. Kyiv can use the ATACMS missiles to strike railways, railway stations, and disrupt rail traffic without needing to reach the Sea of Azov. Using ATACMS missiles can isolate the Russian army in Crimea. Also, the ATACMS missiles could use to target the killer on the battlefield- Russian artillery.
