Minnesota Tax Rebates Update

According to an article by Eden Villalovas, Minnesota homeowners or renters could receive tax rebates of up to $1,300 by the end of this week- issued by the Minnesota Dept. of Revenue to provide tax relief to homeowners or renters. The officials started sending a one-time tax rebate in August. The tax rebate was passed by the legislature this past session and signed off by Governor Tim Walz. It was based on Minnesotans’ 2021 income tax returns, and the funds will be automatically distributed by check or direct deposit by the end of September.

The Minnesota tax rebates will help millions of people pay for daily expenses such as groceries, school supplies, rent, and child care. Revenue Comm’r Paul Marquart said, “Minnesota tax rebates are important to a lot of people. We will send the payments out in early fall.”

Minnesotans must have met the adjusted gross income requirement to be eligible- the adjusted gross income limit at $150,00 or less for married filers and $75,000 or less for single filers. Individual filers will receive $260 and married couples will receive $520- with $260 each for up to three dependents which means married couples with the maximum number of dependents will receive up to $1.300.
