Southern California Gas Prices Now
According to an article by City News Service, Southern California gas prices of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline rose today to $6.101 for the 18th time in 20 days. It’s the highest amount since October 17. The average price has increased by 70.4 cents over the past 20 days, including 3.3 cents on Saturday, according to AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average gas price rose for 16 consecutive days and dropped nine-tenths of a cent on Thursday and 2.3 cents on Friday. Southern California gas prices resumed increasing on Saturday. The average gas price is 23.4 cents more than one week ago, 74.4 cents higher than last month, and 41.2 cents above what it was in 2022. Southern California gas prices increase because of regional refinery outages, increasing crude oil prices due to floods in Libya, a spokesman for the Automobile Club of Southern California said in a statement.
The other parts of Southern California have also seen increases in gas prices, while gas prices nationwide have decreased. The Orange County average gas price rose to $6.073 for the 21st time in 23 days. It’s the highest amount since October 14. The average price has increased by 75.7 cents over the past 23 days, including 2.8 cents on Saturday.
