One neighbor described the situation as the, “typical Florida man experience.”
If you live in San Carlos, Florida, you’ve probably heard someone complain about a drunk man a riding lawnmower and plowing into his neighbor’s mailboxes. He’s infamous for getting plastered and seeking out the mailboxes.
Matt Cardy’s Ring camera captured the man running into his mailbox at full speed and falling off it. The mailbox held steady, but his neighbor fell off of the machine in slow motion. While he was annoyed by the interaction, he also found it kind of funny.
“It was egregious, absolutely disgusting, but it’s so funny. I can watch it 100 times. But I hope they get him,” Cardy told WESH. “Florida Man episode 2860. It happens every day. Welcome to Florida.”
Another neighbor, Justin Crawford, laughed while relaying his experience with the mailbox assailant – but wanted to see action taken against him.
“He should be arrested and thrown in jail for driving while intoxicated on a lawnmower,” he said. “Be a man and turn yourself in. You shouldn’t be doing this.”

While most of the neighbors found a sliver of humor in the man’s actions, another found it infuriating.
“F*** you. I hope you at least paid for these mailboxes to be fixed,” said neighbor Austin Bur. “Definitely don’t hit my mailbox. And don’t hit my truck.”
When he hit Cardy’s mailbox, he left a Steeler’s hat and a pair of sunglasses as he stumbled across the lawn to get back on the mower.
Until then, neighbors continue to watch their mailboxes be assaulted in the evening hours. Deputies told the outlet they’re working to identify and apprehend the man before damage escalates.
