Winter weather advisories have been issued for parts of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The National Weather Service is forecasting 3 to 5 inches of snow accumulation between 1 a.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday
According to the National Weather Service, this advisory affects Fayette and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania and Monongalia and Marion counties in West Virginia. The heaviest snowfall may occur in the higher elevations in these areas. Hazardous road conditions are expected, especially during the Monday morning commute.
Officials have urged residents to limit travel during the advisory and to allow extra time for essential trips. Snowfall will make roads slick and reduce visibility. Drivers are advised to carry emergency supplies such as blankets and flashlights.
The National Weather Service encourages the public to report snow or ice accumulations by calling 412-262-1988 or posting updates on their social media channels.
