WPBN: Robert Quinn, a former defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, was taken into custody in South Carolina on Friday morning after authorities claimed he attempted to flee the scene of an accident.
According to jail records, Quinn, 34, was accused of reckless driving and fleeing the scene of an accident with property damage.
Just after two in the morning on Friday, police in North Charleston, South Carolina, arrived at a vehicle dealership in response to a collision involving a red truck.
Police were informed by the North Charleston Fire Department, which was the first to arrive on the site, that the suspect might be trying to flee the scene of the collision in a different vehicle.
Quinn was in the passenger seat of a white Dodge Challenger with its reverse lights on when the cops came. In a police report, the driver said she had been summoned by Quinn to “pick him up,” and she put the car in park.
Quinn had slurred speech, obvious facial and head injuries, and was combative when authorities demanded to see his identification, according to the police.
Quinn eventually gave the officers his identification, but before placing his wallet in his lap, he asked himself, “Where is my wallet?”
According to the police report, the car that appeared to be the cause of the collision was Quinn’s maroon Ford F-150, which was parked on the opposite side of the lot.
A blue Ford F-150 collided with another vehicle after Quinn’s truck struck the passenger side of a Honda Element, according to the police.
According to the report, Quinn refused officers’ requests to exit the Challenger by gripping the car’s door. Quinn was “escorted to the ground” by police after they pulled him from the car because he was attempting to flee from them.
Quinn told officers that she had met him earlier that evening at the gentleman’s club where she works, G-Club. Quinn had departed alone almost an hour prior to the crash, according to another club employee who arrived on the site.
According to police, they created a timeline of the collision using city cameras.
According to the police report, Quinn’s truck was observed drifting left on the road at around two in the morning on Friday. It then crossed a median and an intersection before entering the dealership’s grounds.
According to the police report, the accident was audible but was not captured by city cameras.
Around 2:03 a.m., according to the police, one person was observed strolling around the parking lot. A short while later, the individual made their way to a Valero gas station.
According to the police report, the individual is observed stumbling and falling multiple times as they make their way back to the dealership parking lot at 2:07 a.m.
According to the report, a white Dodge Challenger was spotted pulling into the parking lot approximately one minute later, at the same moment the fire crew arrived.

Quinn was traded from the Miami Dolphins for a sixth-round pick, and he played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2019.
Quinn violated the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy, earning him a suspension for the first two games of the season. Upon his reinstatement, he was selected as the team’s starting right defensive end.
Quinn had two forced fumbles, 11.5 sacks, and 25 tackles at the end of the season.
The next season, Quinn agreed to a five-year, $70 million deal with the Chicago Bears.
